Day 1 - Arrival Day
Welcome to Costa Rica, a land of natural wonders and breathtaking beauty. From the lush rainforests to the pristine beaches, this country is a paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Upon landing at San Jose (SJO) airport, you'll be greeted by your driver, who will escort you to your hotel. In the evening, you'll gather with the rest of the group for a trip orientation, setting the stage for the exciting adventures ahead.

Day 2 - Coffee Tour & Poás Volcano
Discover the wonders of coffee on the Finca Alsacia Coffee Tour and learn about the history and process of this amazing product while enjoying a delicious tasting. Take a short trip to the active Poás Volcano National Park and witness the breathtaking caldera (weather permitting). At the San Fernando Waterfall (Cinchona) observe the beautiful hummingbirds and other species at the feeders, including the Coppery-headed Emerald and Prong-billed Barbet.

Day 3 - Braulio Carrillo National Park
Kick the day off with an early departure to Guápiles town, featuring a nonstop drive through Braulio Carrillo National Park and its breathtaking rainforest views. A boat ride will take you to Tortuguero National Park, where you can spot three monkey species, two sloth species, and various colorful birds.
Take a short boat ride to explore Tortuguero town. The day wraps up with a 1.5-mile walk back to the hotel, including a stop at the Green Turtle Conservation Center.

Day 4 - Galapagos Islands
Start the day with some optional birding around the lodge grounds before breakfast. Then, enjoy a boat trip through Tortuguero National Park's canals to explore its biodiversity. After lunch at Laguna Lodge, opt for afternoon kayaking or independent exploration. The evening includes a night visit to the park to possibly witness the Green Sea Turtle hatching.

Day 5 - Galapagos Islands
With birding stops along the way, travel to La Fortuna, home to the majestic Arenal Volcano and hot springs. Explore the area's rich biodiversity, looking for species such as the Green Basilisk and White-nosed Coatimundis. After checking in at the hotel, you'll have free time to relax or indulge in the hot springs.

Day 6 - Galapagos Islands
Enjoy a morning hike at Observatorio Lodge, offering a diverse array of flora and fauna along with breathtaking views of the Arenal Volcano and Arenal Lake. Explore the Arenal Dam Road in the afternoon to observe birds and other wildlife. In the evening, participate in the Night Wings Project to learn about the fascinating natural history of bats and contribute to a research project.

Day 7 - Galapagos Islands
Hike to the base of the impressive La Fortuna waterfall and, if the weather is favorable, take a dip in the swimming hole. Enjoy the Rainforest Chocolate Tour to learn about sustainability and savor delicious chocolate. In the evening, embark on a night hike at Arenal Oasis Reserve to observe snakes and frogs, including the famous Red-eye Treefrog. Conclude the day with a relaxing visit to Paradise Hot Springs, complete with dinner.

Day 8 - Galapagos Islands
Begin the day with a scenic drive along Arenal Lake to the Monteverde Cloud Forest, making a stop for coffee and chocolate cookies. Visit the Hummingbird Gallery, where you'll have lunch with numerous hummingbird species. The day ends with an exhilarating night hike at Bajo del Tigre (Children's Eternal Rainforest).

Day 9 - Andes & Cloud Forest
Explore CuriCancha Cloud Forest Reserve to search for magnificent trogons and other species native to this ecosystem. Visit Monteverde Sky for optional activities such as hanging bridges, canopy zip-lining, and an aerial tram for an adventurous experience.

Day 10 - Andes & Cloud Forest
Visit the Los Pumas Rescue Center and learn about the organization's conservation efforts to rescue and protect native Costa Rican wildlife. Enjoy free time or join an optional excursion to Tamarindo Beach, where you might witness the nesting and hatching of Green Pacific, Olive Ridley, or even the rare Leatherback sea turtles. We'll return late at night. Please note, this excursion has an additional fee.

Day 11 - Amazon Rainforest
Explore Rincón de la Vieja National Park, often referred to as a mini Yellowstone due to its volcanic activity, including fumaroles and mud pools. Enjoy a hike in the Dry Forest, with opportunities to spot peccaries, tamanduas, and other unique species. Spend the afternoon exploring Santa Rosa National Park, an area that protects some of the last remaining tropical dry forest in the world.

Day 12 - Amazon Rainforest
Embark on an exciting safari boat trip on the Tarcoles River. This adventure promises excellent birding opportunities and the chance to observe massive crocodiles in their natural habitat. Get your cameras ready for some thrilling wildlife encounters!

Day 13 - Amazon Rainforest
Explore Marino Ballena National Park, with a focus on marine fauna. Embark on a boat trip to search for Humpback Whales and dolphins, with an option for snorkeling at the park's reefs. Enjoy a free afternoon to relax at the beach.

Day 14 - Yasuni National Park
Take a 2.5 hour boat trip to Corcovado National Park while looking for whales, sea birds, and other sea life. Referred as the most biologically intense place on earth, this famous National Park offers a good chance of spotting some of Costa Rica’s shyest and most endangered inhabitants, like tapirs, macaws, tamanduas, peccaries, and the elusive squirrel monkey and jaguar.

Day 15 - Antisana Volcano
Drive through the scenic Talamanca Range, home to the majestic Paramo and around 26 species of near-endemic birds, including the Volcano Junco. We'll visit the Paramo, the highest tropical ecosystem in Costa Rica. Stop for lunch at 11,000 feet to enjoy the hummingbird feeders attracting species such as the Fiery-throated Hummingbird, Sooty Thrush, and Flame-colored Tanager.

Day 13 - Amazon Rainforest
At an elevation of 6,500 - 9,800 ft and spanning over 19 sq miles, Los Quetzales National Park boasts jagged peaks, lush rainforests, cloud forests, glacial waters, and premontane forests. Start the day early to search for the park's namesake, the magnificent Resplendent Quetzal, one of Costa Rica's most beautiful and unique birds. Explore the oak forest at Savegre Reserve, renowned as one of the country's top birding destinations. The journey concludes with a drive back to San Jose.

Day 14 - Yasuni National Park
Reflect on the incredible memories and experiences you've gathered throughout your journey as you depart from San Jose on your return flight home. Safe travels!
